April 28-- ALTERATIVES,
DEPURATIVES AND ANTIDYSCRATICS- 6:30–9:00 pm ET
HERBALIST & ALCHEMIST,
INC.-Washington, NJ
- Teleconference as well as
on-site
The concept of an alterative was a very prominent part of western medicine
up until the early 20th century. Alterative
medicines were used to help alter an unhealthy state in the body to a
healthier, more normal metabolism. Even though
alteratives were dropped from western medicine their use still persists as
an important part of herbal medicine. These herbs
enhance normal eliminatory functioning, thus allowing the body to function
more effectively even on a cellular
level. Come join us as we learn about the most important alterative herbs
and the differences between alteratives,
depuratives, and antidyscratics and how they can be used in the treatment of
chronic degenerative diseases such as cancer,
arthritis, skin problems and autoimmune conditions.

June 16--LITTLE--KNOWN
USES OF COMMON MEDICINAL PLANTS- 6:30–9:00 pm ET
HERBALIST & ALCHEMIST, INC.--Washington, NJ
Teleconference as well as
on-site!!! It
is common for people to attach sound bites of information to an herb and
think they understand its uses. Milk Thistle is the liver herb, St. John's
Wort the depression herb. Unfortunately this does a tremendous disservice to
the herb because most herbs have a multitude of uses going far beyond the
popular ones. In this class we will look at common herbs and learn how Milk
Thistle is being used to treat cancer, how Saw Palmetto can treat polycystic
ovarian syndrome, and Nettle Seed for degenerative kidney disease. We will
discuss many of the most popular herbs but focus in on the uses almost no
one knows. Contact: Peter Folz, Herbalist & Alchemist, Inc., 51 S.
